Went to the Colombian cafe in my neighborhood for breakfast for the first time. Breakfast price ranged from $3.50 to $9.50 and portions seems very large. Good coffee as you would expect as well. I got the steak and huevos, which was prepared in a thick tomato base and topped with two over-easy eggs. The steak was cut into thin strips that you can tear satisfyingly for maximum tomato sauce exposure. The white corn flour arepa pita as a side was good for sopping up the excess tomato sauce and egg yolk. It may not be apparent from the photo, but for $9.50 this is one of the cheapest and biggest steak and egg dishes around. Very good overall, although I don't think the type of beef was super high quality, but for $9.50 you can't expect rib eye--plus the tomato base is the cover.
Giant chorizo and egg sandwich, they have a to-go version for $3.50. Very cheap and quick breakfast. Thick slices of ciabatta toast with chorizo chunks embedded in eggs.
Overall, a pretty good place n the cheap side. Not mind-blowing, but good breakfast and I haven't had their dinner fare yet so I reserve some judgments.
